The teacher, James Hendren, was born in about 1853.He died on the 26th September 1929. He was the son of George and Eliza Hendren. James Hendren was married on the 19th August 1884 at Glenavy Parish Church to Harriett Thompson. They resided in the town land of Ballymote. (Please link to Ballymote town land).

They had three children: George Francis (born April 1885), Harriett (born May 1888) and Selina (born abt 1886).

James's wife Harriett was to die at the young age of 25 in June 1888.

James then married Mary Elizabeth Ann Reid on 12th September 1889 at Glenavy Parish Church. She was from the neighbouring townland of Crew. She died in 1932.

They had three children - James (born November 1893), Clara (born April 1892) and Mary Elizabeth (born August 1890).
